hey good lookin'

Christ! Bakshi knows how to animate fluidly... This is so inspiring..

Check out the rotoscoping about 70 mins too. Thats hawt.

Kira..

So you find a notebook that kills whoever is unlucky enough for you to write their name in it. What do you do?

I don't know if I'd have the integrity to become the new father of revolution like Light decides. I think I would just hold onto the book to prevent more malicious people than myself obtaining it. There are too many examples in the story of foolish extremists murdering innocents and destroying themselves.. Brr.. Don't need none of that!

Too bad they skimped on L's eye makeup.. He looked a bit washed out most of the time.

more tool

What you can do with a bit of plasticine eh? And a godly band to back you up ofc.

. . .

They're a bit good.

doodles = finding love?

So, boy sees girl on subway, loses girl in crowd as they get off and makes a website with this picture on it in an effort to find her again. Suceeds!

Cute.

DDR! AND ETC!

I love dancing and rhythm based video games. For one, you get to dance, tap and pummel like crazy in front of your friends without fear of reprisal and two, it actually feels like you're working out or even doing something productive as you play. Not that I will ever dedicate enough time to playing them to be as good as those featured above...

Exploding piggy banks!

This is a brilliant idea! Motivation to save through fear of explosions! hahaha.. ahh.. more things need to explode when not filled with coins.

Backgrounds are important too..

From the home made fighting game site mugenhistory.com comes a selection of trans-game fighting levels. The background shown here is modified from Gears of War, a gritty bastard of a game and it works so well with the Baiken sprites shown here. Kinda looks like silent hill too..

Wonder if i could paint up a couple of scenes and put them in a game.

Vore: Its hard to swallow.

Apart from being the suffix to many nouns like carnivore and herbivore, the term 'vore' refers to the eating of one entity by another. This is a subject that is somewhat interesting to me as the thought of being eaten or the image of one thing eating another has been in the back of my mind since I was a kid. I remember trying to imagine what it would be like to eaten by a crocodile, possibly inspired by the mysterious 'death' of captain hook in 'Hook' when he's 'eaten' by the giant croc statue. Or even the plant in 'Little shop of horrors' who eats people. There is definatly something about going into the gaping mouth of something and being swallowed that is hypnotic in a way.. heh.

Watching movies like anaconda or alligator too gives a similar lingering sense of wonder. It feels very strange to be coming back to these thoughts from my youth. I remember now in 'anaconda' theres this one shot from actually inside the snake from its throat as it eats a character and being intriguied by that and the swallowing shot that followed it.

I feel better now I've untapped that. And that I've remebered what a damn good movie Alligator is. I need to get a copy of that..

old skool overload

So many memories... I need to illustrate all these games! ALL OF THEM!

Make a mugen fightah!

This is the kind of project I've wanted to do since I was a kid but have never had the tenacity to follow through with.
Ripped from Wiki.. :

M.U.G.E.N is a freeware 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte, written in C with the Allegro library. The engine was originally released in July 17, 1999. Beta versions of it were made to work on DOS, Linux and Windows platforms, distributed through their website or to donors via email. With the release of the Linux version, support for DOS ceased.

The engine allows anyone to create characters, background stages and other game objects through interpreted text files, graphics, and sound compilations. It supports various types of audio formats such as MP3 and MIDI initially, although it can be configured to play various audio formats via Winamp plugins, such as ADX and OGG, as background music during gameplay or at other points such as an introduction or the select screen. The engine allows for most of the same type of functionality found in most any commercial 2D fighting games, up to and including close recreation of those games' characters and gameplay. While the engine is set up primarily for fighting game development, several other game types have been developed using it, including shooter and platformer style games.

So you can make your own fighting games using it! Thats awesome.. Also illegal because the dubious enough programs license expired years ago and was never refreshed. But I'd love to mess about with it for a bit.

War is cold.

Disturbing coverage from the cold front on the war on snowmen.

Heh I love this. Whats better than beer, guns and snowmen? The comparison of peoples lives to sand as well amused me. The thought of a man's life being completely decimated by a snowman is just... the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Ready? .. Engage!

Ahhh.. Marvel vs Capcom 2. Ever since the days of StreetFighter 2, mashing the SNES pad even after falling off my chair and cutting my head I've had a taste for the 2d fighter. Aside from being lightning quick and simple to play, this genre of gaming is special to me because it is one of the few formats on big consoles that still makes use of flat pixel characters, rather than polygonal ones, giving a distinct charm.

it begins!!! :D

So.. after a move to blogger cause its a bit more open and advanced than college blog blog, I'm posting allll my findings and consumings, inspirations and.. whatever happens this year here.

Basically I would expect alot of video game, weirdness and porn related videos and images to be streaming at your face. BOOM! RIGHT IN YOUR FACE!!1

So I'll start with a bit of class. And what could be classier than classical orchestra's playing the classics?

Mmm... Kojima-tastic! I loves MGS..
